​I believe in being a teacher, mentor, counselor, and friend to all my students. I will be my student’s teacher by introducing the proper material to them in order for them to be successful.  I will use the materials that the state and school have given me to better my students. I will strive to make sure my students are in a productive learning environment at all times. I will make it a goal, in each lesson, to reach each student’s learning needs. By doing so, I will introduce the material in many different ways, may it be through technology, an engaging activity, or a group learn-and-teach process. I believe that learning occurs after modeling the information and then practice. I will align my lesson plans in a way that my students are able to apply what they have learned in some way, may it be a interactive game, activity, or worksheet. I want my student to feel as if they have bettered themselves after each school day. I want my students to enjoy learning just as much as I do and for them to always grow their knowledge. I also believe that I am my student’s mentor, as well as their teacher. I will always strive to act professionally, may it be in the way I dress, how I interact with my colleagues, or the way I speak and act towards my students. I want to be someone who my students can look up to when they may not have someone like that at home. I believe in being my student’s counselor. I will listen when my students need someone to talk to. I will advocate for my students each and everyday. And I will try my best to make sure that each student knows they are loved and cared for in my classroom. I will be the friend that my students need when they have had to walk to school and need a hug instead of being told they are tardy. I will be their friend when they are crying over something that is so big to them, and I will listen. I will be my student’s biggest cheerleader and want to see them reach their goals! I hope each of my students know that I am here for them: as a teacher, mentor, counselor, and friend. My classroom will have an expressive environment where students are free to speak out and voice their opinions. I want my students to feel like I am available and hear them out when they need to speak their mind. I want to spark passion in my students just as they do for me. I believe that the purpose of education is to allow students to grow themselves and give them the abilities to reach their goals.  I believe that each student has the ability to learn and succeed but it takes encouragement and support along the way – I will be that encouragement and support.
