Curriculum Connection:

I can use this study set during class to quiz the students on their knowledge of time and money. This way I can tell whether the students are able to quickly recall times on a clock or add money. I will also make other study sets for them to quiz themselves at home or during free time during the school day. This tool will help my students recall time and money quickly and in a fun way!

Teaching Tool - Quizlet

Quizlet is a service for creating flashcards, study sets, and interactive games. There are many options that make learning material in a fun and interactive way! Teachers and students can create Study Sets and put information into them. Then, you can share it publicly for others or just use your Study Set privately. Quizlet also makes interactive games with the information you entered into your Study Set for a fun way to learn!

I have created a Study Set as an example of an activity that would be useful for teaching time and money standards for Second grade Math. To have a closer look, click here.

Teaching Tool - Prezi

Prezi is a tool for creating fun and interactive presentations. One can create their own or use a design template.  I used this website in high school when one of my teachers introduced it to me. I created my own presentation to show the class. As a teacher, I can you this tool to create lesson presentations to show my class. I believe that these are a more fun way to present information than with a boring PowerPoint. Students may also use this site to create their own presentations for future projects.

I created a Prezi for a Kindergarten Science ALCOS standard introducing the 5 senses and grouping objects into the categories. To have a look at my Prezi, click here.

Teaching Tool - Evernote

Evernote is a tool that allows teachers and students to make notes and page layouts. As a teacher, I could use this tool to create note layouts for guided reading or lesson planning. This tool also saves your notes, so if your computer were to crash unexpectedly then your notes are still saved in this program. This is also beneficial for students as well. Students can create their own notes and type while the teacher is talking to remember important information. This tool is free for a limited time, but eventually you have to pay a yearly fee.

I made my own worksheet for a Kindergarten Science standard learning the seasons of the year. To have a look at this worksheet, click here

Curriculum Connection:

I can use this tool in my future classroom. I have made a worksheet for a Kindergarten lesson but I could use this tool in any and every grade level. This tool allows me to create notes and worksheets to make learning new material easier for my students. My students may also use this for their personal use when taking notes. This tool also saves your notes and you can login and receive your old notes forever. I believe this tool will be very beneficial for me as a future educator.
